The Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association (SATA), founded in 1965 in the United States, is an international organization that brings together the world’s leading large-scale subsonic wind tunnel facilities. Its mission is to foster global collaboration, technical knowledge exchange, and expertise sharing in areas such as wind tunnel design and performance, measurement techniques, data processing, and facility operations.
With nearly 100 corporate members, SATA unites industry leaders such as NASA, JAXA, DNW, ONERA, Boeing, Airbus, BMW, Audi, Honda and many others as well as many prestigious technical universities from all around the world. The wind tunnel facilities operated by SATA members serve not only aeronautics but also the automotive, energy, and civil engineering/architecture industries as well.
Following successful annual meetings in Kyoto, Japan (2024) and San Jose, USA (2025), the 60th SATA Annual Meeting will be hosted by METU Center for Wind Energy Research (RÜZGEM) and will take place in Ankara, Türkiye in 8-11 June 2026.
Conference Program
Hosted by Middle East Technical University (METU), the SATA 2026 Conference will be held at the Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center.
