Second Announcement (16.02.2026)
Dear SATA Member,
You are cordially invited to SATA 2026, the 60th Meeting of the Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association, hosted in Ankara, Turkiye, by the METU Center for Wind Energy Research (RUZGEM).
The meeting will take place from June 8 – 11, 2026 at the Sheraton Ankara Hotel and Convention Center. We are very excited to welcome everyone to a premier technical meeting focused on the subsonic wind tunnel community’s latest innovations and technology.

Technical Meeting (June 8 – 11)
- Early bird registration closes March 5
- Standard registration closes April 15
- Honorary Member registration closes April 15
- Meeting registration includes a Sunday reception on June 7th, lunch on all meeting days, transportation for meeting-organized visits to local wind tunnel facilities, one mid-week group dinner and a dinner banquet on June 11th
- SATA 2026 presentation submittals are due April 24, 2026. Additional information on presentation guidelines and submissions can be found at

Technical Tours
METU-RUZGEM, Turkish Aerospace (TUSAS), TUBITAK SAGE
Passport images for visitor cards are required for all technical tours. Images must be sent to sata2026meeting@gmail.com by June 1, 2026, at the latest.
Original passports will be required for entry, so please have them with you.

Hotel Accommodation
- Attendees are encouraged to stay at Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center.
- Reservations can be made on the www.sata2026.com website, or requests can be sent to mice@incorganizasyon.com.
- Reserve a room by May 1, 2026 in order to receive group rate
- The nightly rate is EUR150,00 per night included breakfast, taxes and fees
Transportation
- The Sheraton Ankara & Convention Center, located in the city center, is approximately 35 km from Esenboga Airport.
- Taxi or private transfers can be used for airport hotel transportation. Private transfer requests can be sent to mice@incorganizasyon.com.
Partner Program (June 8 – 11)
- SATA 2026’s Partner Program will offer a week filled with activities and exploration of unique sites in Ankara and the surrounding area, (4-day full package program cost is EUR750 per person)
- One combined dinner event and the SATA 2026 banquet will be included
- Transportation, guides, lunch at restaurants, entry fees to attractions and special marbling workshop will be included in the Partner Program
Add-on Tours
- Details of the add-on tour, specially prepared for the SATA2026 annual meeting and offering our participants a unique experience, can be found on the website www.sata2026.com.
- All our tours are valid with a minimum of 5 participants. Please send your requests to mice@incorganizasyon.com. Tours will be added to the carts of participants who request them.
Pre-Meeting Tour – ISTANBUL (06 JUNE 2026)
We will pick you up from your airport (app. At 12:00 – 12:30 please inform us about your flight ticket). Our first stop will be the hotel where you will be staying. After check-in, our tour will start with lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch we will visit, Roman Hippodrome, where the chariot races were organised by the Romans and Byzantines. Blue Mosque , the only mosque with six minarets and its surroundings will be our next place to visit. Next, we will see the German Fountain, a gift of Kaiser Wilhelm II and listen the stories of his liaison with the orient. Hagia Sophia , The Church of Divine Wisdom is the highlight of this day. Then we will visit the Topkapı Palace Museum. It is the biggest and the most important museum of Turkey and the Balkan Peninsula. It is an incomparably rich treasure- chest, brimming with things of historical importance. First, second, third and fourth courtyards; the Audience Hall, Divan-the High Court, Historical Kitchens, Royal Stables, the Treasury, gardens, kiosks…Probably the best commentary on Ottoman History, art and its culture is simply to come direct to the first courtyard of this amazing palace. At the end of the tour we will get back to the hotel for dinner.

After breakfast you will have free time, our airport shuttle will be at the hotel at 12:00 (please inform us about your flight ticket to Ankara).
Our vehicle will meet you at Ankara Esenboğa Airport and transfer you to the Sheraton Hotel.

UCHISAR – PIGEON VALLEY Civilizations had lived in the region at the best view point of pigeon valley. Pigeon valley took its name from the old cave pigeon houses. ONYX Workshop (Information about onyx stone)
GOREME – ESENTEPE (The panoramic view point which the valleys crossroads)
OPEN AIR MUSEUM (The first Christianity traces, the first examples of cave Churches and fresques in Anatolia)
LUNCH – AVANOS
ZELVE – PASABAGLAR (The mushroom shaped fairy chimney valley is called monks valley because of the chapel of Saint Simon)
AVANOS The town in which people have been making potteries for about 4000 years and visiting one of these pottery workshops to see the steps of making.
DERVENT – VALLEY A photo break in front of the new and amazing rock formations at pink valley.
URGUP Three Beautiful Fairy Chimneys, panoramic view and Kilim weaving workshop.

BEYPAZARI (Option 2)
12 JUNE 2026
After breakfast at the Sheraton Hotel, we depart at 09:00 for Beypazarı and begin our enjoyable journey. Upon arrival in Beypazarı, a town that beautifully preserves Ottoman architecture, we head to the historic bazaar area to experience its authentic atmosphere. As we stroll through the restored traditional houses, our guests will have the opportunity to observe local handicrafts such as filigree art, copperwork, and other handmade products. Guests who wish may also visit the Living Museum to gain a deeper insight into traditional Turkish culture and heritage.
For lunch, we enjoy a selection of Beypazarı’s local specialties, including the famous Beypazarı casserole, stuffed grape leaves, baklava, and the traditional Beypazarı dry biscuit, offering our guests a true taste of the region. Following lunch, we proceed to Hıdırlık Hill, where we take in a panoramic view of Beypazarı and enjoy a photo stop overlooking the charming town.
Our program continues with a pleasant nature walk in İnözü Valley. Surrounded by impressive landscapes, our guests will have the chance to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. After our visit to İnözü Valley, we return to the town center for free time. During this period, guests may explore the historic streets at their leisure, shop for local souvenirs, or simply enjoy the unique ambiance of Beypazarı.
At the end of this enjoyable day, we depart at 17:00 for our return to the Sheraton Hotel, where our tour concludes.
